What is liga b?

Liga B is the third tier of professional football leagues in Romania, after Liga I and Liga II. It consists of four regional divisions: Liga III-Vest, Liga III-Nord, Liga III-Sud, and Liga III-Est. Each division features between 12 and 16 teams, with relegation and promotion between Liga III and Liga II. Liga B was founded in 1947 under the name of Divizia C and later renamed Liga III. The teams that win their division in Liga B are promoted to Liga II, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Liga III. Clubs in Liga B are mostly amateur or semi-professional, with limited financial resources and infrastructure.
